Second ride report

tubing will be stronger than bar stock. You could look around the net for some chromoly or Ti.....Should be someone out there making custom length sleeves, particularily the circle track or kart industries(transmission shifter rods would be close tothe same dia).

HYFLYR what are you riding?

Thats a tough one to answer, do you want to know which one i ride or the one i own, because its a different answer, lol. Either way im on a apex and lovin it.

I think its safe to say he has been "tuning a turbo all winter".... Mine as a matter of fact :jump: and doing a very good job of it. too. :yam: My sled likes HYFLYR better than me this winter :die

Finally had to do something about the side panel vents. Every time I'd roll the sled the vents would loose a clip and partially fall out resulting in 10 minutes of hassle in putting one back on or having snow in the clutches. I cut and bent 3 small tabs out of sheetmetal and riveted one side to the plastic and the other side just backs the vent. I also put 2 rivets through the vents themselves. Now I can roll it over and over and not have to deal with the vents popping out.

I also got a complete(4 a-arms and 2 spindles) spare front end for a killer price as a backup set, and to work on making the lower ball joints. Now I don't have to tear mine apart to do ball joint/spindle work.

Almost had to be towed out today. My oil tank started leaking around the seam at the bottom like the tank is going to split apart. Emptied what oil I had left, JBwelded the crack and put the oil back in. I lost about a quart and a half but had an extra quart with me I always carry so I was able to start with 2.5 quarts. When I got back to the truck(10 miles later) I had 1.5 quarts left(drained it again so it wouldn't get on the trailer). I'm going to get a new tank under warranty but I think I'm going have the seems welded and run the tank I have now. I don't want to have to deal with this again.

Pics from today...more proof that Yamis are too heavy to jump :D

Cool. I was about to demand more pictures from you guys! Thanx!

Nikolai, that's about a hundred feet, eh? That jump is perfect for working your way up and going further and further down the landing. Did you have all the speed you could get on that one, or is there enough run-up room to go further?

pretty sure he was tapped out! it had a killer uphill run to the jump that ate alot of speed

Got 1,750 miles on the sled and last weekend while going uphill doing 40 mph I stabbed my track and tore it in half. Had to tow it out of the mountains backwards.

Time to start tearing it down I guess. Oh well, rebuilding is the funnest part of sledding.
