Second ride report

How's the project going? :yam:

Just starting to put it back together. I smashed up my truck so I was busy truck shopping the last few weeks. But I bought a new truck so I'm back on the sled now.

I bought a brand new 2008 Chevy 1500 crew cab. Good time to buy, it was $9,500 below MSRP.

Sweet ride...I bought the Crew Cab LTZ in May. It has ever conceivable option in it and is very nice to drive. The Active Fuel Management is a nice feature too. Certainly rides heavier than my Tacoma did.

OK guys, is this a Yami or Chevy site?

If you want to get all warm and fuzzy over your Chevs, I'm sure there is a site out there for you. :tg:

Starting to get it back together, should have the motor in today.

I got rid of them and made my own because they were too weak and started cracking and sagging.

Motor is in, exhaust is in and done, sub frame is on, Trail Tank will be on soon. Going to try and get all the electrical done tomorrow.

Got the carbs, radiator, and most of the electrical done tonight. I just need to clean up the electrical routing a little bit more.

I pretty much finished up the electrical. I got the trail tank mounted which was a PIA. I had to loosen the four bolts that hold the upper aluminum frame so I could slide the trail tank far enough forward to get the seat to fit properly. I'm not overly thrilled about the fit and finish but the 10 gal. capacity far outweighs any negatives.

I also got my new headlight support on, a-arms, shocks, steering, some plastic, ect. I also installed the wildchild steering post reloc. kit. I've powder coated a few sleds and they are very time consuming to put back together as you have to carefully grind off the powder in certain places to get things to fit right. I also pressed on my new Whal Bros drivers.

I have those drivers on my sled, and after a season they are not looking so good. The external drive nubs are getting kind of flattened out, looks like I'm running the wrong pitch, but it's not. They are just soft drivers I guess. I hope they work better for you. Your sled is looking awesome!
