Secondary bearing problems

There's a filter in the tank on my '03 Rx1 on the pick up line(hose) I used an electrical fish to grab the hose the you MUST use something to hold the hose to get the filter off. I used needle nose vice grips. The filter is an open paper type held on with a hose clamp. Couldn't get why they couldn't give an extra 2 or 3 inches to lessen that fight.
Crap in the gas is no fun. I can rebuild the carbs, off n on, in about 20 minutes. Live and Learn. They are delicate animals. One little POS in a jet kills them.

Yes I had already removed the 2 filters when I went to the dealer&they said that model didn't use them!! I bought new special hose&replaced both lines in the tank with longer hoses so they can now be serviced much easier

How the hell did you get in to add the hose? Did you pull the old ones off or just add to the ones in there?

Yes I found out you can remove the old filters thru the fill neck but cannot install the new filters this way as the hose is too short to get out of the tank.I unbolted the 2 bolt flanges on the front of the tank after pulling filters off &removed hose from there. The new hose has to be able to be submerged in fuel&was hard to find&expensive (also the clamps are an odd size) I replaced the hose with new hose that is longer&then reassembled&pulled the new hose up thru fill neck&put your new filters on&then put back into tank.next time hose is long enough to service filters thru the fill neck.I guess yamaha never considered this problem?

I figured out that nut looks that way in picture because the hard steel on bearing is wearing a groove cause it happened again and everything was loose and spinning.when I bought the sled I found all that stuff loose,I will need to built up shaft with weld and machine it in lathe and get all new parts in summer, for now I'm just going to run it with a new collar and hope it stays tight enough for one more month.
