Started a tear down on my sled today and noticed I can push the secondary back and forth on its shaft. When it is pushed in there is about 1/8 of an inch gap between the clutch and the washer. Is this normal? I can't remember seeing this before so I just want to make sure.

That's good to hear; thought I was going to have a problem there. Thanks for the reply.

There are specs for it in the manual and you adjust it by the amount and thickness of washers on each side. Offset from back of primary to back of secondary should be 15mm +/- 1.5mm and the freeplay should be 1.0-2.0mm.

Has anyone done this modification of locking your secondary?? My belt does a fair bit of squealing when it is warm out, perhaps this is a solution??

For what reason? What do you gain by doing this? Belts last forever now. The other brands have belt blowing issues, but not the RX's. If it was an improvment in performance some how I agree, I just dont see the point. Change the helix and spring, install a heavy hitter or any weight/primary kit and rock & roll. I also lowered my gears. This is an old post in the tech section when everyone was experimenting on the RX's.
