2010 RS VECTOR GT LTX STOCK FOR NOW!
Hello guys I was over on the rs board for my brother in law to get his vector set up better with some dullys and shiming his skis.... I have a set of flexi skis on my rx1 and was wondering if anyone has shimmed there flexi skis and if it makes any sense to.
Thanks jdp

I never thought about it when i bought the seld they were on it I shimmed the skis on my old viper and what a diffrence. I guess I have one more project on before the snow flies. What thinkness did you go with on the shims?

thanks jdp

Stupid question where did you shim it under the plate on the ski because theres no rubber like stock ski mount on my sled.

How did you mount them without the rubber damper? You should use the stock rubber damper from the original skis, and then I just shimmed the same also. Good luck bud!

What are people using to shim their skiis with and how do you keep it in place? :dunno:

with the stock rubber removed, put the spacer on the bottom side and attach with screws into the rubber. make the spacer the size of the rubber block at the back. use a piece of old belt, a piece of plastic a quarter inch thick or so, or anything else similar that wont break down when wet.

If I attach the shim with a screw won't that dig into the ski? :dunno:

Hey Chester, the back side of the screw won't dig in to the topside of the ski, not that I've ever seen.

I have another question on this same topic.

Can you use screws and washers to build the required thickness to achieve the same results as using a shim? :dunno:

I didnt mout the skies they were on the sled I never looked at it before so I assumed it was corect. I have some stock skis around and will get some rubber dampeners back in glad i asked!

the new style simmon saddles have 2 mounting holes instead of shimming now. I have a new set and have used the second or hole closest to the track and got the same results as my old method of shimming. If you have the new ones, you dont have to shim.
