Just picked up a used center and rear ohlins shock for 03 RX 1 pro action skid. Just wondering if anyone has any advise and or recommended settings for these shocks with luggage and rider weight = to 240lbs. (ie.) spring compressions and number of clicks on rear shock. My ride style is aggressive trail with studder bumps. Any advise greatly appreciated.
Yes I do have the manuals and can read but wondering if any of you have a recommeded postion and or setting for these shocks.
Thanks

I have the rear shock. I'm around 230 and find the stock valving and spring to be way too stiff on the softest settings.

I have both ohlins in the skid and think setting really depend on how you ride. I weigh 200 and was running mine almost full stiff with the full rate adjuster in the hardest setting just to avoid bottoming in the big stuff, but the sled suffered in the stutters. Over the summer I sent mine to Ohlins to have them revalved to make them more progressive, softer early with more bottoming resistance.
I would start with the clicker in the middle and the FRA at the middle setting and adjust accordingly. You will also want to make sure that when you sit on the sled you have equal distance on either side of the control rod travel. If you are sitting too deep into the travel you will need to go full stiff on the FRA or add preload to the rear most shock.
