I live in Bangor, but have a camp on Cross Lake near Fort Kent. I keep my sleds at camp, so i dont have to trailer but twice a year. I just bought a phazer for my oldest son and my wife has an ACE900 so i'm used to the 4 stroke goodness. I dont need the fastest machine, but want at least 800 / 850 class power with minimal weight to have to wrestle around. I was considering the new Ace Turbo, but I'm affarid it might not be quite enough. For the same price and can land a Sidewinder. Seems like its the way to go.
Whoa,,, Yes big trails for sure. That is 4 stroke region. Wanted the ACE900 or 2011 and up Vector for my wife, but then a back operation came along for her!
I have owned 3 phazers, maybe more, I loose count. That fan cooled engine 488 2 stroke is very reliable.
On the county trails the Sidewinders weight does not show itself, in fact, that is where it shines. You want something stable on those High Speed trails.
The DX model has cheaper shocks then the SE, or the BEST LE. I do not think the DX shocks are rebuildable!
Do some research through the search feature under this Sidewinder section. Hours of reading if not days or weeks....
