Sidewinder trail gas range.

My17 ltx le was noticeably harder on fuel but my 20 ltx le isnt bad imo , went 128.6miles and put in 32.4 liters. Now this was in twisty trails over towards pembroke. Sled is stock other than 1" track and minor clutching. I do remember doing around same distance with my 17 but was 36litres of fuel to fill so was on fumes!

120 miles for me and my light will come on no matter conditions. 120 and I NEED gas!

Don't know what type of riding you guys are talking here, but anytime I've rode with the latest crop of 8's, I used only slightly more. I was OK with that given I was packing a LOT more power, and I didn't have to continually dump in oil.
I was out with an 850 Polaris this past winter and used less fuel than him, which did surprise me.

I would think temperature has a lot to do with fuel range. We typically are riding in -15 to -20c[5 to -4f], or colder, temps in North Western Ontario so the trails are pretty hard.
I also run my track pretty loose so the sled rolls easy.

I run a STX-GT, with that extra fuel tank in the back I've never thought of running out of fuel...sometimes I get 17+mpg riding conservative and sometimes allot less when I'm pushing new snow on the trails..bottom line, love the reserve tank...no need to worry about range and not carrying a red can stuck to the back of the machine where I could be carrying something else...but with the saddlebags and the large trunk, no need so far to put a backpack back there...this sled is just as advertised....a cruise missile. I'm surprised I haven't seen any GT's on the trail...I did see one Cat 7000, similar set up.

I did a 900lm ride with a 19 850 poo and 20 850 xrs both 129’s and I was putting the the same in as the poo with in $1. But the doo was always a few bucks less. But on the 900km ride they both brought a spare liter of oil and at the 750km mark where frantically looking for a place to buy some with only a couple inches in the tank which sucked. I did get 165km on a 23L fill but the last fill was 93 non ethanol and trails where tight.

yup, looking for oil can be a problem, every now and then I will see a quart of oil on the side of the trail..my buddy always stops as allot of those quarts are full lol..seriously..make sure the oil is secure...

Seen quite a few empties on the trail this year, even gallon size.. it’s a shame guys leave them on the trail after they fill there sleds up.. who’s gonna pick them up.. hopefully karma kicks in and your 2 stroke seizes on the trail lol..

last year on the trails in Rangeley I'd see allot of nip bottles at the intersection trail signs...not so much this year..but the quarts of oil and gloves big uptick. Hopefully next year it gets better...keeping the environment clean will help keep the land owners happy and the trails open. What's wrong with people...pack it in pack it out...very simple concept.

I didn't think loose tracks were doable without ratcheting or suspension clunking .

I run mine on the loose side. It’s got extrovert drivers, won’t ratchet until it’s way to loose. When I did my first check up my track stretched to where it was 4” off the slider just hanging and only noticed it while coming to a stop brakes on
Wouldn’t if I had real studs though
