Sidewinder trail gas range.

Under optimum conditions and reasonable driving habits this sled can give decent mileage out of a tank.

I had a couple good runs this year. -5 C , good snow and got 192 out of 30 l.

That means 220km out of a tank is doable.

Warm temps in wet mucky snow I pulled into the pump at 195 km and filled up 36 l

A friend did confirm he ran the tank so low his fill up was 38 l.

When I ran out a few week back, trails were freshly groomed and tight for the whole day, temps in -10 to -5 range. At 221km on trip sled wouldn’t restart and I could only fill 35 litres back in the tank with burping multiple times.

Does the fuel pickup move around in the bottom of the tank?

Since I wasn’t there that info was second hand but I believe the guy.

On mine I ran with the fuel light on for 10k and put in 36 l.

On these sleds when the light comes on there is not a lot of runway

Would be interesting to know how much fuel is in the bottom before the pick up doesn’t suck any more

good question Fabio, I'm not sure on the fuel pickup but seems like your at least a half gallon off from a complete full tank...when I ride I fill both tanks..I just feel better with both full in case I take a wrong turn..

Seems like the low fuel light comes on at different times from sled to sled.

Mine came on at 191km and sled died at 221km, 30km with light on, that was from New Liskeard to Matheson

I still have over 2 gallons left when my fuel light comes on, and it will suck almost all of the gas out of it.
Have put 9.8 US gallons in once without running out! But others say when their low fuel light first comes on, fuel better be close.

2021 srx Running sm ss bundle 225/240/270. Running the 225 my light came on last weekend at 145km. Weekend before I ran out at 161km. Mixed trail conditions for both trips. I am definitely not getting the fuel mileage you guys are getting. Not sure why? Running a xs825 belt qay70's empty yamaha white secondary spring at 6/1. Stock 35/39 helix. Rpm 8900/9000 on 270 around 16.1 lbs of boost. Any ideas?

I'm stock 2018, and can't process the speed as is...lol..getting old, and find myself sliding up to roads. .. stop signs...!!! But I'm pretty happy with mileage. Just checked 2 days ago burped rim to burped rim, 41 miles on 2.7 gallons US, for 15.1 mpg. Trails and big fields, moderate riding, off and on the throttle, as no real big trails to sit back and cruise. No ethanol premium.

I just did a 100 mile ride that was relatively slow bush trails punctuated by lake running. The 850 Renegade, 1200 Renegade , and Nytro that I rode with all had their low fuel lights on well before the end of the ride.
My SW's mileage was crazy good on this ride as the picture shows. The guys I ride with were blown away...LOL...maybe my fuel gage is packing in.

Rode all day yesterday out with an 800 etec and 850 Doo, two Polaris 800's. Beat the Polaris on fuel and match the Doo's. Really happy. Haven't upgraded to the closed loop yet.

Your sled is still really new. wait until 2000-3000kms on it before fuel economy is real good.
My 2017 last year went one weekend 200kms before light came on and ran out at 221kms. exact same route 2 weeks later light came on at 217 kms and ran out at 219lms thats real handy lol always carry my BRP tank. I ran yesterday with my 19 SRX with 500kms on it with 225/240/270 SS tune and mostly drove with 225. Went 170kms and put in 31 liters. The 2020 600 Assault we were with was almost bone dry and put in 40 liters, and he filled up 20kms into our ride!

Well, to be perfectly honest, as we have few gas stations around these parts, so I pay strict attention....when my fuel gauge is around the FU, that's exactly what it means....better be near gas because the next time I look the light will be on and get ready to hike!! Drops like a rock from the FU. Lmao!!
