Anybody try Simmons flex skis on one of these? Used to love them on some of my older sleds.

I have set ready to put on but have yet to try them. I may sell them.

I have on the xtx vipers and found no matter what I did the steering was very heavy but had 8" carbides on the inside and 6" on the outside I went back to 14 single keep skis with twin 8" carbides.

I ran Flexi-skis on all my sleds starting with the 98 SRX7....loved them(4 different sets)....BUT when I got the 14 Viper XT-X I has heard they were a biotch to get right so I tried Curve XS and never looked back.....running the Slim Jim Dooly wear bars and it's almost like having power steering....YMMV

Which Gen do you have? And why are your selling without trying? I'm going to give the Gen 3's a run. Few reasons.

1- the curves are over priced at $600 by the time you get them set up with hard-wear and good scags, Imo
2- I vowed to never own anything ski-doo again in my life and there's no way in hell I'm buying anything that supports that brand. (yes I have a personal problem with them stemming from an 05' 800 pile)
3- Simmons was the innovator of the ski game, (why ski-doo copied them) I've read some great reviews of the gen 3's on 4 strokes, I feel like they deserve shot for how great there originals were.
4- The plastic seems to be better quality than the others.
5- Its a package deal no hunting for multiple pieces and parts. Got them with all mounting hardware, carbides, and color matched loop for $425 shipping included.

Buddah which Gen were you referring to?

I'll let you guys know how it turns out. Hopefully I wont be eating a ton of crow and buying curves in a month... I will admit to it though. For the record I do prefer stiffer steering as long as it produces...

I have the simmons skis but have not tried them yet. I am running the mohawk skis and love them. Maybe this season I'll have time to compare.

I ran them on everything for about 2 decades...IMHO they are NOT for a heavy rider forward sled..

Did you try the Gen 3's? From my research there saying the 8" width and shape of the Gen 3's develop allot more float than the 6" and outer runner placement of the originals.

All four sets of mine were Gen I.....I looked at Gen II but felt they were too wide for the trailer I had at that time....then, once we left the sleds permanently at the house here, it became a non-issue.....but I already had my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sets......let each set go with the sled it was on........

They were certainly great on the older sleds, Had a set on my 01 sxr and then my 05 rev. We'll see what happens, have a set of Gen 3's on order, I'm not to worried as I have a 14' ZR 8000 that is light in the front end (I had to run it with the limiter strap jacked up) that my wife is going to run now so worst case I'll toss the simmons on that as they seem to have good reviews on the 2 strokes in the pro cross chassis and pick up some curves for the winder.
