Just replaced mine. The bushings have a split in them. Find the split and drive a small screw driver under one side of the the bushing. It will separate and overlap the other side. them simply pull out. Worked like a charm when i recently installed my new Ulmer bushings.
good luck!

If they are really in there, like mine were. Use a small hacksaw and saw almost through the bushing being careful not to saw all the way through. Then use a small punch and it should just fall out. One cut is all you need, it should calapse the bushing enough to let it just fall out after one whack.
They are a pain though......
