Has anyone had a chance to ride the ski doo r-motion to the sr viper how does the viper compare ?

I have ridden a few R motion Ski Doo's. IMO the Viper has better rider position, handle bar and seat. The Viper handles better ( more precise) . IN the junk they both do well . In studder bumps or mild chop the R motion does better. The LTX SE ( that I ride) are stiffer from factory. Once softened up they are very good. On a side note, I was able to race an E tec 800 this past week. I was able to hole shot and pull ahead of the E tec 800 about a sled length to about 4-500 feet , then the 800 started to gain and pull ahead on top. Ran them both 4 times. The 800 had studs ( I don't) and he weighs at least 25 lbs less than me. Real happy so far.

I would say you would be happy with those results.......MM. ;)!

I test rode both last spring and ordered a Viper. In all honesty with the amount of cash you are about to lay out you need to test ride both. Everyone is different and you are going to hear allot of opinions on here but the only opinion that matters is yours. Call your dealers and tell them that you want to ride one. That's how I got to ride the Doo, for the Viper I went to the Demo rides last spring. I would give the Doo the edge in rear suspension but everything else I think Viper takes it and it's rear suspension is really good as well. It might be totally different for you. You owe it to yourself to try both. For me a new Sled is a every 4-5 year affair, I can't afford to trade any more than that so when I buy it has to be right for me not Joe Blo down the street.

I got to ride a Switchback Rush 800 last weekend as well, that's rear suspension seems incredible as well but handling seemed not so good with its skis off the ground all the time. Really nice Sled and so is the new Doo.

I love my viper but rode 200 miles with a couple of my buddies yesterday. One on a doo 600 the other on doo1200. Man them guys could pull away from me in tight twistys in woods. I have rtx with fox floats in front and having trouble totally getting it to stick in icey corners where them guys just flat out rail threw them. Need to do some more adjusting I guess. Other than that was right there with them all day. Fuel milage between me n 1200 was the same. Never did race him. Probably should have done that. But like one poster said only one who can decide is you!!

You now have the option to buy the mountain Viper and add turbo. Say goodbye to all the other sleds...... :sled1:

Yami1 you need some adjustments. I had a guy fall off of his 800 e tech chasing me through the twisties and I think mine pushes too much. Both our sleds were brand new so I think he needed some as well. I just started tinkering with mine, high hopes for this weekend.

I ride with 2 1200 s all the time I have the deluxe model.we switch often I like my sled everything is working well. I am going to have to get some bigger springs, regretting not getting the floats. But I sure like the seat on the doo that's a nice seat.

Yeah need to do some more tweaking I guess. Like I said fantastic bite on groomed trail but get it on some icey corners and hang the hell on!!! I dont know Im real happy with this sled. Plenty of sled for me. The guys I were riding with are exceptional riders as well.

Has your Viper been clutched yet?

How are the gains on some of the clutch setups working out on the Vipers this season?
