Bought new hardware to install in my skidplate and found the ends....or nuts that hold the bolt into the sled are not big enough or somehow its expanded. Im thinking that it may be due to ice buildup and it pushed the plate off in a couple corners. I drilled some holes in the plate to drain water out of it for the future. I havent looked down inside the sled yet but is there a way to possibly slip a nut over the bolt from the inside of the sled to fix this? Should be easy enough to get to I'm thinking. Anyone have this problem?

Just go to Rona or Home Depot and pick up a few of these. Worked like a charm on my sled.

Get the one that you have to drill a 1/2'' hole for.I found that one worked really good for me.

Picked up some well nuts today. Lets hope they do the trick and dont come out like the alum ones did!

If they don't hold or spin in the hole because of corrosion next time use the longer aluminum rivnuts in the link I posted they won't come out. Matter of fact I caught something on the head of the bolt and it bent it back alot and the rivnut held it just mangeled the bolt and hole. I had to pry the mangeled rivnut out and install a new one next to it as the hole was damaged as well as the bolt being bent bad.

The guy who posted about the longer ones and were to get them is a machinest and measured everything and figured it out. He was right for sure. Cost only 10 bucks for everything. I got a ten pack.

when i installed mine i took one look at the blind nuts and threw them away. i just drilled them out and tapped them with a 3/8" fine thread tap and put 3/8" fine thread bolts in with lock washers and loc tite. works perfect. zero problems
