I purchased a slidekick for my sled. I like the idea of them, but I could not keep them secure. They kept loosening up on me. I called the company and did just what they recommended, loctite, wavey washer (I think they call it a star washer) with a rough surface to no avail. Anybody have success with this product and could help me improve the performance? Thanks, Dana.

I can't help you, I have a set on both my sleds and have had no issues with them coming loose? I just bolted them on with the supplied lock washers and got them really tight and have had 2 years use with no issues. Sorry I couldn't give you some wonderful suggestion, but mine seem to have held alright. Good Luck

Thanks. That is what I am hearing. I will try again. How do you like them?

There is a set of slidekicks laying on the floor of my garage and a new set of the plain spring type are mounted on my sled. I never had an issue with the slidekicks loosening, but they did not do a good enough job on hard pack or icy conditions.

Sidekicks are a good idea for guys with reverse but like as mention above they dont do a real good job. Just not enough downward pressure to get the snow spray. Eric

Agreed, wore out a set of hifax in 300 miles mt. riding :o|

After snowmobiling for over 47 years, and over 110,000 miles in the saddle I have never heard of sidekicks. What are they? A place to keep your shot gun while riding?

a second set of hands will help a little...i had the same problem but the boys holding a wrench I was able to get that extra grunt to get it extra tight..
