There's a dealer here with a 15 LE viper with a turbo and all the options you could put on the sled, $8500..and they've had it for sale since last winter. Tried to swap my turbo viper in 2015 with 2600 miles on, mint condition tons of accessories and a brand new track and new studs..dealer wouldn't even give me a price, they werent interested in it at all..and I was trying to get a brand new sled. still got my viper..and have no plans of getting rid of it. I love it and it runs flawless, I was just trying to stay current so I didn't get to where I am now with a sled that I can't ever sell but at this point I don't care because I know I can jump on it and ride it every day this winter and not have to worry about it. On the Facebook side I've spoken with several different guys in regards to buying their used vipers a couple months ago (my old man wanted one)..and I had 4 different ones within a 3 hour radius of me that we could've bought for $5k. Fast forward to now, one guy dumped his to his dealer and got a sidewinder and the other 3 still have theirs. A friend of mine with a 14 renegade etec that spring ordered his just traded it with 4100 miles and got $7200..trade in! And dealer will sell it no problem. Wish it wasn't that way but I don't see where the vipers are holding their value in our area compared to others.

So I guess you never want more. The point is it should do a 100. Never seen over 96 . Thats my only complaint. You guys keep complaining about these things but yet I don't see any of your sleds forsale lol. Come on! PM with details of the sled, I'll purchase yours since they are all done and hit 98mph. And I'll sell my stocker . I'll know that you guys took care of them at least

Im 25 years old, of course I want more. I'll probably just not complain about it and get it set up to the best of my ability that's most cost effective , then in the future put a turbo on it or purchase a sidewinder. Reinventing the wheel never works, I'll let Yamaha take care of that price cat for that matter

Well looking back at the info so far it looks like if you have a stock machine and want to have some cheap improvements without going overboard you can throw a set of small rollers in. Modded sleds or turbo sleds isn't what I was trying to target with this post, simply putting in smaller rollers isn't as cost effective to them machines because with the extra power they more than likely already have a clutch kit of some sort. I'm just curious of the outcome and gains on a box stock sled.

I have d&d weights, 50-46 helix, red ulmer secondary spring, choices between gsg and opo springs, 14.5 mm rollers installed.
Air box mod and d&d oval barker
Getting back to clutching, is there a better more aggressive weight then the d&d weights?

Tons of Vipers for sale around here like this one with 127 miles on it. https://flint.craigslist.org/snw/d/2014-yamaha-viper-xtx-se/6356268135.html
I think the sidewinder knocked the bottom out of the market.

I'd say better is all about adjustability, hard to beat the magnet style weights for easy adjusting, only thing I'd say is easier would be Dalton weights..but I've never used them so can't compare performance. Wishing I had a big selection of big dog weights to try, the act like a much heavier weight than what they really are. In the 7000 they make for an awesome on/off throttle setup. They accelerate really hard and backshift awesome..but they're non adjustable so that makes it a tough on to look at.

Studroes you ever compare the profile of Thunder Products weights to the Magna Forces? Kinda got a kick out of all the guys that preached flat profiles (C.O.C and OSP) and now they are running aggressive profile. Will say one thing that I need to question bit more. Drag racer I help out does like the Thunders over the Magnaforces because he is able to fine tune them more. Not sure what he meant by that but I did find some magnets that are half the thickness and same dia.

Sorry for getting you guys riled up! When I buy a Yamaha 4st I have every intention of keeping it 20,000 mi+. So depreciation is really not a factor for me. Will eventually try to get my oldest daughter off Phazer and onto Viper. She would rather ride the Cat though. Doesn't like the viper. I think its just the seat difference that forces her forward and being small legs are forced apart. The Cat has lower seat and actually feels like Phazer when sitting. Anyhow not getting rid of Viper anytime soon. Person has to set goals. 110mph in perfect snow is attainable and if I get it whining will end. I will say this. That Cat got 103mph GPS same day same track Viper got 107mph gps. But the cat only has a clutch kit that was never tuned all stock otherwise so I do not consider Viper a 800 since Viper has a lot of mods. 600's are not a challenge unless internal mods such as porting etc are done. I guess I never really ran a 600 for really long distance since they have all given up way before then. Even when I was pretty much stock. Man we need snow! All work no play makes Steve a crabby boy. Can ya tell!

Cannondale, what are the gram increments of the magnets, I'm on the verge of getting a thunder products clutch kit for my turbo or the bikeman kit with magnets wich has nearly identical weight profile as thunder products.

Never compared side by side, never even looked at them til just a few days ago when I went on their website to price the rollers and when I saw them my mind instantly thought about how aggressive they look..anything but a flat profile that's for sure. I can't say much because I've ran both the flats and the aggressive weights, they each have their ups and downs and work better with their own belt and helix combos. Time for you to open up that 800 and let it breath. Mine just got sealed back up and on to the dyno tomorrow if the day falls into place..I won't say what we're shooting for on power but I will say it's gonna be higher than a lot of the turbo vipers..and it's a true blue 800

About 2 grams each for thick ones? Less for thin. My scale is magnetic so I really cant get a good reading for a magnet since it sticks. Bikeman has the thinner Magnets. That's what I put in the Cat.Cannondale, what are the gram increments of the magnets, I'm on the verge of getting a thunder products clutch kit for my turbo or the bikeman kit with magnets wich has nearly identical weight profile as thunder products.

So d&d magnaforce weights are an aggressive profile while cotc and OSP weights are flat. Am I getting this right?
