For those in the GTA looking to get out for a quick rip. Go East of Bancroft, much better snow.

Got out for a good rip yesterday in the area between 4 mile lake (Coboconk) and Haliburton. All the rail beds and lakes are in good shape, and the smaller local trails are in surprisingly good shape, all of the trails we ran across in and around Haliburton were trash including the power lines.

B103 from 4 mile to Haliburton is in good shape and although not the most entertaining piece of trail its good for some smooth, fast running. Coming into town the trail starts to get dry in large sections but there is plenty of snow to ride around them, as you get right to town be prepared for some gravel crossing. Crossing into Haliburton starts to get very beat up quickly and picking up the 7 (power lines) it is basically dry in many, many spots. Cutting back across near pinestone there are spots that are dry but you can ride around them. The local trails around 4 mile are in good shape for the most part, medium tight and well groomed, they don't get much traffic and were fun.
