I've rebuilt car engines, motorcycle engines and transmissions but here I am struggling to get the spark plugs changed. I have the 10 gallon tank on my 2011 xtx so I had to remove that. How do I get to the plugs. I cannot get the plug wires/covers out of the way. I've spun them and tried to pry them up but don't want to break anything. Please help! Lol
Also just installed a aaen pipe without the quiet core. Anyone else run one? Did you have to make any adjustments? Notice any power difference? Sounds amazing just haven't ridden yet.
Thanks!!

They are just coils. They are a bit sticky but hands or a screw driver under should pop them up. I would just leave the cr9s in there unless you have problems. The CR10s seem to foul easily.

First time is the worst they just come straight out believe it or not. I can remember using a prybar or something to get them to budge, thinking to myself the plastic is going to break. I used a little die electric grease on the rubber going back in. If the fuel tank isnt in your way try to get a straight pull and twist at the same time. You should hear it go pop as they come out.

Just did the plugs on my Nytro for the first time last night. I rotated the coil a bit back and forth and then just pulled them off by hand. Very different than any plug change I've done before but it works!

On a side note, I'd love to hear some sound clips of your exhaust. I bought a full AAEN exhaust in the off season and haven't had a chance to install yet. Since then I've heard several people say the slip on is LOUD. I'm looking for a bit more aggressive tone than stock but don't want to have to wear ear plugs while riding...

Had a whole long post written but somehow it was deleted. I love the sound of the slip on. Super deep and throaty and is very loud. Not sure if I'll add the quiet core. Here are my first two videos ever uploaded to YouTube for your viewing/listening pleasure. The iphone sucks at capturing the true sound IMO.
