So, I got new keys made today for my new to me Apex mTN. Put the first key in and started the sled. Turned it off- maybe a little bit to soon. Put in second key and it would not start. Hours later still will not start. Tried jumping with my car. Still won't start. Book says to check the plugs. Where the heck are the spark plugs? Under the air box?

The plugs are under the coils. No airbox removal.
Here is what you should do to change the plugs.
First, grab new set of 4 new plugs, the manual will tell you which ones, but if you can, grab a set of CR10EK's
Take all your panels off
Get yourself some special ball ended or regular allen wrenches, and loosen off the bolt attaching each coil to the head (4 of them) To do this, you might need to set aside the resevoir coolant bottle, which is one little bolt.
Then pull each coil out by hand. This isnt very hard and should just pop right off
Use the spark plug wrench given with the factory tool kit and remove the plugs. I found the factory tool worked best actually, compared to my other tools which were incompatible.
Put the new plugs into the tool, then gently slide the plug done the hole. Rotate counter clockwise to make sure that the threads will not bind, and once you feel that "click or bump" of the lead thread, gently start turning clockwise. You will know when the plug is going in.
Then after that, just re assemble everything the way it came off.
If your uncertain about this, get a dealer or someone who has done this to do it. To mess up your spark plug threads would be a very unfortunate thing...... So dont risk it if your even a little unsure.
Next time, when ever you start it up, make sure you run it for around 10 mins or until the running board heat exchangers get hot.
Im sure others will contribute to this..

Don't feel bad, That was exactly my thought when I went to change my plugs. WHERE ARE THEY???
I actually went on the Yamaha web site and looked at the parts break down to find out where the plugs are...lol
