Talk about exploring all the options. Thanks NOS-PRO for all you do.Going to get it done ASAP
1st - I will take readings from my POD and record the AFR's at start up and idle. I'm doing this cause mine starts perfect everytime, no kick-backs and no issues.
2nd - Remove EVP ECU, put in spare ECU and fire it up once again recording the previous update flash from Yamaha.
3rd - Unhook PC5, take sled in for latest flash from Yamaha. Fire it up a few times and see how the sled reacts.
Question? Does the latest flash unhook the 02 sensor? I will try to start it both ways...with and without.
4th - I will hook up the PC5 as I left it and see what the Rpms are, how it starts and AFR readings

Thanks bud!!! And you are very welcome!
I want every Viper owner to be happy with their sleds.... I truly believe in the Viper's potential and never gave up hope. Wish Yamaha would have never let CAT put their ECU in the sled....but now all we can do is try to remedy the issues.
Perfect! ThanksGoing to get it done ASAP

I'm going to find some snow this weekend I hope. Plan is to get the flash done on the way up. The dealer I spoke with said he has done several and they all take 2 starts to get running cold.
I will post when I get it done.

I'd vote, but it seems the only ones with access to the flash are outside the US. I've contacted almost a 1/2 dozen, and none have it yet. The one I usually go to even called his Yamaha Regional Technical Adviser ... was told that the only flash available is the one that came out last year to fix the 2014 models.Need more votes

Nos Pro yes the o2 sensor is not needed after flash can be unplugged and no code.
I am 1 day from buttoning sled up. Looks like Throttlebody sync is what I am trying rather than flash. 72% say two tries to start. I am not going to do flash with those results. Mine starts instantly the colder it gets. If results change I will reconsider but as of right now I see this flash as Pathetic effort by Yamaha. If my vehicles took two starts to start it would be going back to dealer. Havent had that since carb and choke days! Yamaha wake up!

Had 2016 viper ltx le with the old motor at the dealer today and they flash it. It was on the list to be done it starts on the first try just like before no difference in idle ether. Now all I need is snow.
