One thing I learned in my 45 years of riding, never pass a fuel stop! This past winter we were staying in Grand Marais and they had run out of fuel the night before, fuel truck did not arrive till 10am. There must have been 100 sleds hanging around waiting for fuel, luckily I always fill 4 cans on my way up and leave in the trailer just in case. We were able to fill up and leave while others were waiting. I have even came into areas that had fuel before, now closed.Good to know .thanks. need to get some sort of emergency tank I can strap on my machine. Just to be safe. Last time I ran out I did have an opportunity to fill up mid ride but foolishly passed.oops

I don't ride over in that area but I know the folks that ride the Big Bay area usually carry buddy cans on their machines. Not a good place to ride a poor mileage machine. Fortunately we ride the upper western side of the UP and we have never had any problem getting gas. We stay close to Pat's and they always have fuel.

Haha. I ran out of gas because of Pat's. Pulled in on a Sunday afternoon and they were closed. At the time I didn't realize it was a dealer gas station. They did fix two riding companions sleds within 24 hours on the same trip. Nice place

As far as I know they don’t have pay at the pump yet. In the winter months they have long days and yes they may have slightly shorter hours on Sunday but Mass City isn’t far though as an option.
