That sounds about right. It's a lot of work, but yet kinda cool to do, interesting. I really took my time the first time and looked at everything very closely before every move, but that wasn't needed. My starter was tight. Watch it come loose now! Not my headache now.

It would be a lot quicker if my sled was stock but dealing with that stinken intercooler and all of the plumbing and wiring underneath adds to the complexity. Amazing how easy this thing comes apart though and also amazing just how easy it can all go back together too. Did a 65 mile rally through some really deep snow and it ran flawlessly today. Always have that paranoia in the back of your mind after ripping things apart that far!

My '07's starter lasted about 5400 miles before the starter began to turn slow at the end of last season. Upon removal of the skid plate (optional accessory) the starter is visible from from underneath. At this point one of the bolts could be seen to have become loose and backed out. Removed starter and disassembled to inspect and luckily no internal damage had occurred. Reassembled and loctited bolts and hopefully I'm good for at least another 5400 miles. My original battery was starting to get weak at this same time and I replaced with a YTX14HBS (260 cold cranking amps) as opposed to the original YTX14-BS battery which is only 200 cold cranking amps. Incidentally, beginning in 2010 the Phazer's came from Yamaha with the 260 CCA battery.
