have 07 phazer stopped to get gas all it wood do is spin the starter. found out the starter is running backwards when i tore it apart. The starter worked all day and then it just quit. Do you have any idea why the starter would be running backwards? or what the problem is? thanks Cody

The starter is an annoyance on the Phazer. At this point I would search the forum for the starter thread on how do DIY the starter fix, and at the same time figure out the oil change and save yourself $140/shot.

If the starter is going reverse, the poles have moved. I believe it can be repaired based on previous posts, but sometimes they are shot. The important thing on the starters is to locktite the bolts that hold it together and those that mount it to the chassis. Some bonehead forgot to do this during assembly and a bunch of 07 owners have gone through this pain.

You have a bit of work ahead, but its a good learning step since the Phazer needs an owner that can wrench on it.

I would check the bolts before putting it in for sure...

YES should cover it under warranty I would think..

Look for a little green line on the middle section and some protrusions on the end aluminum covers. They all need to be lined up.Its the bolts that sandwich the starter together that loosen and let the 3 pieces go out of alignment. As far as I know thats the only thing that would cause starter to run backwards.
