Forgive my question here, as this is something I'm not totally familiar with yet, but I've got an '03 Redline Revolt, and for those who know them will agree that the electrical system is greatly under powered and has a number of flaws. Someone I had spoken to a number of months ago mentioned sending the stator away and having it re-wound to produce more voltage. Does anyone know of somewhere that can do this, if it can be done, etc?? Its a super fun sled to ride, but can't go too far with the issues it has, and I'd like to modify things now so I can enjoy it a bit more this year. It's only got 240 miles on it so far, and I'd like to use it more.

I rewound a stator in my 1983 diesel truck alternator just to see if I could do it. I used regular coated wire from the store. It worked and increased the power output of the alternator and it worked fine for about two weeks until it heated up and caused a short in the wire I installed. I marked each of the three wires how they come off and it was just like the diagram every 3rd post start to finish then repeat with new wire one post over. Once you get to the third wire your done.

Or check locally for a Electric Motor Repair shop.If they can repair a motor they can if willing repair and upgrade a stator.
