I have been experimenting with different set up options. I realize what the Control Rod transfer bar does.... but is this any different from what the stopper strap length does?? The manual explains to use this to change transfer weight but does not mention anything about changing the lenght of the stopper strap. I read what different guys wrote about changing the stopper strap lenght (shortening it by 1 hole). I had good results from this. I initially had a lot of slack in the strap on the stock 3rd hole position, after shortening it by one hole - it is tight with no weight on the sled and has a litte slack in it when I am sitting on the sled. Handling and ski lift is significantly better but someone said I am losing full travel on my rear suspension by keeping the strap shorter. Can someone shed some light and explain the difference between shortening the strap and cranking down on the transfer bar????

Your "stopper strap" is accurately referred to as a "limiter strap" ... On my SRX, the dealership recommended backing out the adjustment bolts so there was only about 1/2" left on the bolts. I've played with the transfer rods. I adjust them to give me the best launch..transferring enough but not too much to the rear of the sled. We have a friend of the family who rides a thundercat and must have the transfer rods out to the maximum because he gets the false feeling that because the sled is quick to pull the skis off the ground, he thinks the sled is faster. He has to let up on it to bring the front end down and valuable time is lost for drag racing.
I just purchased a 2006 Apex GT and I am still trying to find a compromise between impressive launches and being able to ride out the moguls on the rough trails. Some wise #*$&@ told me that the "GT" meant Groomed Trails Only. My suspension is still set up pretty much the way it left the dealership. I too am looking for some input for the Apex GT.
