Love the XS827. They've held up really well!Which XS belt..827 or 829? Been using the 827 with a STM secondary with good luck. Wondering what effect the hair shorter 829 may have.

I have a couple friends with TCats running XS829. Doesn't seem to be any discernible difference. Interesting that application chart shows XS827 for 2017 but XS829 for 2018 & newer. The only reason I can think of is that the 2017 version of the Team clutches is slightly different than the Arctic Cat Team clutches on 2018 and newer? Technically, the 2017 Cat has what's called Team Boss (and that is right on the clutches) compared to 2018 & newer that just show Team. IDK?Which XS belt..827 or 829? Well that's as good of an answer as I've heard concerning the differences...lolI have a couple friends with TCats running XS829. Doesn't seem to be any discernible difference. Yes Glenn, that’s the one. I’m going with this belt this year too on my new clutches. Lots of satisfied Winder/Cat owners with the Ultimax/Timken XS belts. So Done with the 8JP too. It just isn’t strong enough like you have said for sure.

Been through 2 early on. And gave up on the carbon belts. Destroyed at will. All you have to do is get on gas and back off and hammer it’s toast. I concur.Be careful what you wish for LOL. I have never been able to make a Cat belt last more than about 100 miles. I've tried every belt there is and I put my money on the XS belt from Timken. BTW- whatever you do, don't be tempted by the Gates GForce carbon fiber belt. My buddies and I went through 11 of them in one long weekend (280 tunes and lots of studs). Everyone got pulled in two such as you describe.

I actually had decent luck with the 8jp. Not saying I like it as it’s dirty IMO. BUT I have pissed whaled it at times and been good for me. I run the timken XS also. I do like the 8dn for just plain old hammering for trail riding. Can’t beat the price. It’s a touch slower up top.

[QUOTE="Turboflash To my knowledge, no one is using Cat belts (made in China) on their Cat.
Are you saying the stock AC belt was having problems & a lot have switched to the XS with success?

[QUOTE="sideshowBob, post: What's the down side of adjusting for and running the 8DN belt?
The problem is some of us don't have the time, or live in the snow, to be adjusting & testing to get it right.
FLEECER lives where i ride so he has all the testing time in the world. I drive 6 to 8 hours so when i get there, it's GO time.
The 8DN ran well in my sled, but because it's 1/4 inch longer, it was slower on top & a tad poochy. I carry one with me as a back-up to my back-up.
The question is: Is there a 1/4 inch shorter 8DN out there? Same everything, just shorter

Yessiree! I know 9 guys with ZR9000s. None run Cat belts. All started with Cat belts but all switched to XS cuz they blew the Cat belts to bits. I really don't know anyone still running Cat belts. Junk. May as well run a v-belt from the lawn mower store.[QUOTE="Turboflash To my knowledge, no one is using Cat belts (made in China) on their Cat.

I was at my Cat dealer yesterday so I questioned them on this. The 17 had a technical issue with the bearing on the shaft, so 18's and up were improved. Belt's are said to be dimensionally the same and interchange but supposedly the 18 and up belt was improved slightly.

Also good as I sell these belts through Kimpex
I have a friend with 17 T-Cat, I'll have him try this belt.

All 2017 clutches were replaced under warranty (yes, some issue with roller bearing).
XS827 has dimensions of 1.50" x 45-1/16". XS829 is 1.50" x 44-15/16". Both have same rubber compound. XS827 is specified for 2017 only. XS829 is for 2018 & newer.
2017 clutches were Team "Boss" (100% Team engineered and manufactured). 2018 & newer are Team (no "Boss" designation) and are a blended Arctic Cat & Team design.
Since XS827 is 1/8" longer, one might presume the 2017 clutches have wider shift range and therefore a slightly longer belt was required? Don't know for sure.

Center-to-center distance has to be same so maybe the center bearing on the 2017 was bigger than 2018 so belt needed to be a bit longer? IDK.
