Need some help fellas. I've got an xtx with a timbersled suspension and a 2inch challenger track and I'm wondering if switching to straight rails would be worth it. I ride mostly flat country but go to the black hills and big horns 5 or 6 times a year. Maybe id be better off waiting and going 153. Tell me what u think. Oh and boost is in the fore seeable future once I decide between mcx and ulmer (probly ulmers 180)

I think I would leave it alone, you are using all your track as soon as you get in the powder. What are you thinking you would gain. If you want more track on the ground I would go to the longer track.

You wont find too many pure mountain riders that like a tipped up rail. Not saying that its his best option, but for deep snow performance streight is the way to go.

I have a XTX with a timbersled skid, 2" 144" 16" challenger track, and ice age straight rails!
Yes it is worth it! I do ride 90% mountains though, it helps in deep snow, while climbing, and with braking down hill. I didn't notice much difference in cornering on the trails. But I also don't ride a lot of trails either.
I wouldn't say the tip up rails were bad, just that straight ones are better suited for the type of riding that I do.

I had road my xtx out west 4-5 times and would not change the rails for the money just change the track and drivers and ride it!!

Thanks guys.I don't ride trails so I doubt straight rails would bother me much. I couldn't pass the deal on the xtx which is why I didn't get mtx. Just seemed like a waste to have the last 10 inches of track hanging in the air.the 2 inch track was a huge improvement but thought straight rails would finish it off and help keep it from wheelying.
Thanks for the input guys. If anyone else has some thoughts I'm all ears
