You do realize there is one in the gauge pod? It's digital but better than nothing.

Hi thanks, the manual says don't use the pod tach when running, an after market tach is better for hot weather tuning

I have no idea why they say that. Maybe it would be a distraction? I have used it all the time, no issues at all.
