went to the dealer today and asked about the TD stock muffler tune and the guy told me that I didn’t need to do anything to the clutches ?? I always thought that if you added HP you had to add weight ?

Let me know which dealer that is. The TD ecotrail can be run stock clutches it will rev higher but still good RPM.went to the dealer today and asked about the TD stock muffler tune and the guy told me that I didn’t need to do anything to the clutches ?? Powertrail SM needs clutch weights.
Max spool 16 SM will need clutch weights too of course.

Doesn't Max16 also need a 3 bar and a BOV?

Not required but that version runs slightly higher boost pressure and coupled with the CAI, spools faster and makes more power.Doesn't Max16 also need a 3 bar and a BOV?
I ran the stock BOV, map sensor and air box last year with Max 16 and it was still really powerful and fun. I made a bunch of upgrades this year but haven't run it yet.

Last years Max Spool 16 was not made to run with the 3 bar map sensor much like the bigger 17 and up tunes were.
This season’s Max Spool 16 was made to run with the added 3 bar sensor.
So if you have last years Max Spool you should not add a 3 bar unless you get an update flash.
My understanding is that , powerwise they are very similar, but the updated 3 bar flash allows for both, accurate Boost psi readings and more precise mapping at over the 15 psi level.
BOV is needed for both whereas the stock BOV is known to start leaking in the upper boost range, say 15 and up.
I ran both versions and both ran very strong, big upgrade from stock or even ecotrail tune.
With last years tune and BOV, I was seeing 16.1 psi tops.
This years tune with 3 bar and BOV, I am seeing up to 17.5 More power? Not sure whereas it is just “seat of the pants” thing and speedo. But I do enjoy seeing the higher more accurate boost readings and knowing that it now maps better during the WOT experiences.
Oh almost forgot to also mention one really cool point, same tune for both sm and smm with or without CAI.

Above answers are correct for the most part.
Max spool 16 works without 3 bar or bov.
To get most out of it and beat the 260 rating use a bov and a 3 bar... Makes more boost

You can get it either way you want but you are correct that the tune must match the hardware setup. What I like about TD is buying the bundle gives you access to all tunes he has. Change your hardware? They update the available tunes for free. The other guys want something like $150 to give you an updated bundle if you change your hardware. Supposedly this is going to be self serve from the app at some point. I actually have both a stock muffler jukebox and one for my 3 inch Viney Fab on my flasher for when I switch back and forth depending on where I'm riding.Last years Max Spool 16 was not made to run with the 3 bar map sensor much like the bigger 17 and up tunes were.

This season I wanted to just add the 3 bar with last years Max Spool 16 with BOV, and was told to do so I needed the updated flash, so I did. That was my understanding, did not mean to misinform. Learning something again with your comment of “Max Spool 16 works without 3 bar”, BOV I knew.
You have many tunes my friend, and it is quite a feat to stay current with all pertinent information, especially with the many different choices of single flashes. Now with the bundles and needed hardware and choices for those, holy crap. I fully understand why some dealers or guys like myself may try and help with our gained knowledge, but may not be 100% correct. Apologies for that to all that I may have mislead. Thanks to TY for that enlightenment in the first place though. Enjoying the tunes and the gained knowledge for sure!

Good info about the bundle, but with a bundle one also needs a flasher correct?
Without the bundle or flasher, one needs to go to a dealer to get an updated flash and that still has a charge from both TD and dealer. Much less then the original flash charge though. Just trying to keep it all straight.

Would it be possible in the Jukebox with Dash Flash to have tunes for an aftermarket exhaust like Super Quiet but instead of having the 250/Ecotrail for SQ you have the highest level possible for the stock exhaust? Or remove the Max17 (not sure why one would use that when you have MaxSpool17) and replace it with a 260/270hp tune for stock exhaust?
I'm heading up North and or Quebec later this season and would love to put on the stock exhaust for those trips and not have to bug my tuner all the time (and not have to spend the $$ on a flasher)

Well I talked to a guy at TD today and for what I do with my sled I’m going with the power trail for stock muffler tune since I already have a clutch kit .
The guy at the dealer was probably talking about the eco trail tune I guess ?

Not if you get the dash flash. Then you can pick your tune with the top left button at any time.Good info about the bundle, but with a bundle one also needs a flasher correct?

However, to get the dash flash you need a flasher(I call it adapter), or you need to send your dash and computer to them.

This is a safety issue... If you switch to an tune by mistake and run a high flow muffler you will be very lean....
That's why we have not done both. With a flasher you can switch jukebox...
