Not sure what experience others have had with this particular mod but it was no good for me. The belt overheated pretty quickly after about 4-5 miles down the trail and then the fixed primary sheave fried it's shaft splines down to nothing so it was getting the crap kicked out of it by the primary drive shaft. Luckily I shut it down shortly after I heard that noise. The belt is still intact but pretty glazed from the abuse and heat. I had just had the primary machined down for higher engagement which meant there was less spline riding on the output shaft but I had it done the same as others had done in the past. Simply taking 1/8" off the face of the sheave.
So in summary, the TexMudder snorkel mod and the primary clutch mod resulted in disaster for myself. Was hoping some others could chime in and describe their results. I changed both items exactley to a "T" and burned it down. Any others out there just machine their primary only and not have problems. I wasn't too sure about doing it at first anyways.
