This must be a crack in my arm and what to do?

Noticed this today during my end of season storage routine.. I had the arms beefed up back when by a member here.. powder coated as well... It seems it's been a while as there is rust around the crack.. I believe it's a crack..never saw one before. Can it be welded? or what to do? buy a used one? or newer version? 07 Attak GT OEM skid ..

Looks like a crack to me. You can have it welded, but I doubt it will last.

Did Yamaha beef up newer versions? if so would it fit this 07 attak ok? or should I buy a new one..what say you?

Surprisingly "cheap" replaced mine after "nicking" a tree. Just nicked it. I had bed liner applied to them before I put them on for a strong coat of protection. I would have done it myself if i knew how easy it was. I later bought Herculaneum and coated some other things. It leaves a rough surface but I didn't care. Go new

Ordered a new one.. same part number for the 07 as the 09... must be newer version... I must admit it served me well. I put over 15k miles on it... had it beefed up at Halfbaked back when..took it from my first Attak over to this Attak...

Ordered back on March 27 but it's back ordered until Oct... I hope they get it in at that time.. Mean time I should look for a newer used one?
