black john, there's not much difference in weight at all between titanium and the stock steel gears. go with an aluminum bottom gear and you'll save more weight. plus gears don't have that big of a diameter at all so you don't really notice the change in weight because it's not that far off of the centerline unlike the secondary or brake disc, etc.

yes i also ran that one of the aluminum gears up the flag pole but thay wear to much for trial use. all that i have came up eith so far is to use polaris lower gears thay are a little less materal on them. or use the a/c trick of running two differnt width gears ie slim lower and thick on top. and if it,s not that big of a thing why would manufactures got to great lenths such as to make ti gears and install them and use two differnt width of gears ? it must make some differnce just the fact that aluminun gears are out there should mean some thing 8)

Black John, just trust me when I say it doesn't make that much of a difference. I've done alot of testing and trying all those products. If you really want to take advantage of the rotating weight then buy yourself a double diamond direct drive or a RMI direct drive unit. I just couldn't justify the cost of a TI gear on a trail sled. Not worth it in my eyes.

Just run the Polaris hyvo bottom gears.......lot lighter and easily available.
Just shim to back side equal to OEM and you'll be good to go!
