Bought a used skid for my '08 nytro. Wanted to use my stock upper idler wheels but think i'm missing something. The instructions say to secure with the snap rings. I dont have any snap rings or see where they wound go. I already sold my factory skid so dont have anything to go off of.
Just seems the instructions dont help much and im sure im missing some parts somewhere. Can you guys help please? Not sure i can wait till monday to call timbesled.
Thanks!

Its been awhile since i installed my MT rear skid and i went with aftermarket wheels however i dont remember any snap rings holding the upper idlers on. There is a snap ring holding the bearings in the wheel itself though. I looked at the TTADS thread at the top of this forum which did a good job detailing the install of the MT rear skid on a nytro. Started around page 19 i think.. It looks to me like that there is a collar with s set screw that holds the upper wheels in place. If you cant find help call or send Allen at Timbersled an email. He has great customer service for his products and has always been willing to answer any question i had about my skid. good luck

Just trying to do my part. I lot of people helped me out when i had questions so when there is a question I might be able to help with I do . I believe that timberlsed sells replacement parts for most if not all the parts in the mountain tamer kit on their web site. they are listed under replacement parts. if it isnt list give allen a call i am sure he would be willing to help if he can.

There should be a lock-ring on the out side of the wheels. Don´t remeber if they came with timbersled or if I took them from my oem skid.......sorry. You should have a groove that you can mesaure on the shaft, and be able to get a couple of new lock-ring/snapring att your hardware store

Florida, Did you get the spacers you need? If he does not have them I might be open to selling you my rear arm and I would order their newest arm. Or like I was saying on the phone you could take your shaft and your wheel to a machine shop and them machine the spacers should not take much. I am sure Palmer Machine could do it he did some for a rear axle of mine and it did not cost much.

I did! I work at Cat here in Wasilla. We were able to get something put together. Kinda aggrevated at Timbersled. They told me to order after market bearing adapters through Westerpowersports. The guy wouldn't tell me what I was missing from there set up. Guess that's what I get for buying a used one.
