Hi

I have started to read all post on ecp kit, but there too much information.

If i want to put an ECP kit on my Mountain for powder riding between 0-3000 feets, what i should know before and what change i must do after the installation of the kit to fully appreciate the kit and get out of my #*$&@ this mini rocket of what is a 600 summit 05. :D .

For sure i know one thing, when i do powder riding at low speed, engine tend to burble from 5000-7000 rpm, when temp is a little hotter , say early in season, like now.

Right now, in stock form, except for the 21-40 gear ratio, sled of the line, is slow. Maybe right for a race with a guy in snow shoes :D

1st. Is the ECP work with powder.
2st. Should i gain something off the line.
3st. Throttle response, more zap when i play with throttle, say in stop and go, between tree.(or rock in my case)
4st. I dont really want top end, i'm running 155 kph.
5st, On trail at steady speed, sled rev well over 8k

here the clutching spec, straight from my dealer.

Gold-Silver-Gold
17.2 with hole outside
17.2 without hole inside
16.5Ø roller.
With spring on secondary.
supposed to be 3 rivets on center. Not sure. Clutching for me is an unknow territory.
21-40

In this form, i'm not even in a race with a MM 700 from 0 to 100km/h(o-60)
With this setup, uphill riding when i must let of the throttle is hazardous, because throttle response is'nt good. ( we are two RX-1 m in my group, and from different dealer, but supposed to be same spec, exept for ratio

thanks ;)!

I was the one asking about the clutching/gearing for flatlanding. It's running real good now. Here's what i run along with the k&n's and evac:

Primary Spring: Orange-Pink-Orange
Weights: 89L-17605-00 43 grams
Rivets: 4.5 gram
Rollers: 15.0mm
Helix: stock
Secondary Spring: Green
Gearing: stock

went out on sunday and i can get to 155 km/h (95-100mph) real fast (after putting more twist on my soft secondary spring) and climb from there.
I can beat my friends 2002 viper mtn with bender tripple pipes, clutching and jetting off the line by a little bit, keep on pulling away slowly untill 100km/h and then really start to pull away from there.
Hope this helps.
Are you getting your sled fixed??

thanks for the reply

Frame is backorder. They said, min 10 day since monday 6/12/04

When you said Flatlander, are you running a bit in the elevation. Mostly i rode between 2000 and 3000 feet, with always low pressure. Land has a lot of small Mountain.

How do you pay for this setup. I'm thinking to try this, since i dont know where to start. :drink:

ECP work great for you in powder ???

i ride under 2000 feet...valleys, creeks, stubble fields, windbreaks, ditches, trails, etc. We get lots of nice drifting becase of the wind here...maybe 4-5 inches of snow right now, but there are long drifted sections along trees and in ditches where there is 1-4 foot drifts of nice soft powder already. Always get 6 foot drifts or more along trees and in creek beds and ditches later in the season...thats where the long track is awesome!! ;)!

clutching was approx $200-300 for springs, 89L's, rollers and rivets from the local yammie dealer?

ecp (with evac) worked great, but you need prefilters in the powder...i had them off and carb heater off and it started to ice up and run like $hit for a litlle while...blew off the snow and turned on the heated carbs and it fixed itself. I was going through the 3-4 foot drifts more than over them as it was so soft...the rx1 is a good snow plow :D
