One thing for sure, anywhere over 1:1 at any RPM youre loosing efficiency trought the clutch. You need to be closer to motor peak efficiency when going over 1:1 ratio in clutch

RPM = Track speed. Peak hp is down at 10,700 but if you turn it close to 11,000 all the time the extra RPM outweighs the slight drop in HP on the dyno curve.

Don't forget the Apex's are a reduction motor so your turning 11,000 RPMs on the motor and only 8,000 at the clutch so increasing the 300 above the peak HP at the engine is only 219 at the clutch which is a long calculations to get through the secondary & the chain case which probably only results in several extra revs per minute on the track at wide open. The sacrifice of the peak HP is not felt once the sled is at top speed which is in direct relationship to the RPMs through gear reduction, both clutches and the gear box but at the shift out points to get to top speed.

The Vector running 137 MPH on radar even though it is TURBO is still limited to the rpms, clutches and final drive ratios. This is a 3 cylinder machine with a redline I think somewhere in the mid 8,000 range.

I have been to a lot of events where people have spent a lot of money and time to get sleds to break 130 mph on radar. I am not saying it can't be done I just doubt if will happen on stock gearing and clutch setups of the vector.

I know the answer to this one. turbine man has more gear and more hp.

my vector ran 108 on radar last year on ice. is that nowmal compared to others?im not bragging but i thaught they were running aroufn 100mph

Sorry boys ben gone all day gearing is 25 38 rpms were this was last year belive 9000 to 9100 revlimiter comes on at 9200 running 18 plus lbs of boast perfect icy conditions. has a stroker 1050 cc built by cpr a 2560r turbo its just a trail sled only take it out a few times a year, but it is fun and it is a sleeper,,,Jeff
