So i went to change the primary spring and went to put the cover back on and snapped the bolt in the spider. I thought the torque was 10 foot lbs but not sure. Can you tell me what size bolt it is and the correct foot lbs. Thanks.

I thot that spec was in inch/pounds not foot/pounds for those little bolts.

Those are 10 mm bolts I would think 4.3 ft-lbs would be about right, 10 ft-lbs seems a bit much. I have torn apart hundreds of clutches and I just do them by feel but that's me.

looks like 10 ft/lb

10 ft-lbs sounds about right 10mm is about a 3/8's bolt it's not that small!!!

I got caught by this before too but I stopped when I thought things were going too far took the bolts out and they were just starting to stretch. Lesson learned you need a really good torque wrench (Not saying yours is bad but my 80 dollar special didn't cut it) and loctite or oil on the threads of the bolts messes the torque up as it provides lubricant and will let it over torque. I bought a really good wrench and it is still alittle hairy, so I go by feel on cover bolts now but that's just me.
