track ratcheting

I think hiperfax only makes the one profile for Yamaha (profile 20) -the difference is the length. They offer both short and long track sets. I have an XTX so I bought the longs and cut them to fit. You have to do a little tinkering to get everything to look factory. Just match them up to the ones you pull off and copy everything you see. To run Hiperfax you MUST have either a fully clipped track or you need to install the metal buttons HPE sells. The material hiperfax is made of needs to run on metal- rubber won't work. If you decide to go with Extro's you will need to punch the closed windows anyway, so you might as well clip them. Or you could just get a different (and likely better) track that's fully clipped- a more expensive option, but much easier. Just a question of what you have more of- spare time and tools or money. Your choice. As for wear on the clips as someone above mentioned... couldn't tell ya- don't usually keep sleds or tracks long enough to find out.

ratcheting...proper track tension...proper "suspension squat"...pull limiter up one if necessary..

hyfax wear...when a new set of slides are installed...they must be "seasoned"....get them hot then dive into a snowbank and let them sit for a good 20-30 minutes ...you'll be amazed ..

also...In the old days Ive heard of guys doing this with a propane torch..till the plastic gets a bit shiney...then into the frozen stuff...tempers the plastic and reduces wear

I have 2300 miles on my sled and it's never ratcheted once. and I run a long stud and it wheelies like a monster. I don't run through hyfax like crazy either. There must be an issue with your sled.
You must have an amazing sled or you drive like a girlie man!LOL :drink:

I think there might be an issue with your sled!!! You got a limited edition, I think this is the first time I have heard that statement.

Cheers

My 08 was terrible.
No matter how tight I got the track, it still ratcheted.
I couldn't get rid of the 08 fast enough.
I traded it fast for the 09 XTX.
The ratcheting stopped but I still had the slider issue to fix.
Looks like Excell has a new Wheel product coming.
Between that and Hyperfax...
Obviously there us no doubt reagrding slider wear and the aftermarket knows exactly what we need.

"season" or "temper" your slides and get better results...
