Having some issues with my 2008 apex GT LTX. When I hammer it off the line it sems like my track is skipping pretty hard. I have adjusted my track so there is only about 7/8" of sag which is slightly tighter than what a buddy sets up for on his 2008 RTX. Has anyone had experience with this issue and how tight have you had to adjust the track to if you found out that was the problem? Pulled the skid out tonight and everything seems to look fine from bearings, drive axle, and gear case. The only other possiblity I would consider is not knowing how this skid transfers and therfore collapses, could this allow for the track to have more slack? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

You have run your track tighter than that if you don't want it to rachet on the dig. I use to run mine very tight but then you wear your slides pretty good. That is just how the mono skid works and it kind of sucks.
To take care of that issue I put in a fully clipped track with extrovert drivers and now my sled has a hole shot.

My wifes attack is the same way I just kept tighten the track a little bit at a time until the ratcheting stopped. Other that doing what 70superbee said, thats probably your only option.

So what are you guys going by in setting the tension? just letting it hang naturally or having the weight on it like Yami shows in the manual?

I adjusted the track with no wieght at all. Just the sag which of course would be tighter than if I were to pull it down with wieght.

This season we have ripped threw Hyfax. Don't know if it is the low snow conditions this year or I had gotten the standard slides instead of the HP ones..or my tension was too tight. So I have to start looking.

I run my track with over an inch of sag ( no weight added ) and I do not rachet at all. How many miles on the sled and track? If you have alot of miles you may have a worn out track or drivers.

are you sure it is not the chain that is the prob? just wondering cause on my mono i ran with 2 inch sag no weight free hanging and never once had it rachet. thought it was early this year when i put the new track on and come to find out the chain was out of adjustment as the jam nut was not tight(my bad lol) just a thought may want to check there as well.

You may have different driver that won't allow the track to ratchet.
