Trying to decide on an Apex.

If the trailer has a bump out in the front, should fit with a little room to spare. I have a 10' Karavan with a Snopro Clam and my Attak fits.
Thanks!

My Attak measures 10' 2" from ski tip to bumper. I do have mtn skis on it but I don't think that they are longer than stock skis.

I have never owned an enclosed trailer since my sleds are in a garage up north, however on occasion had to haul on my open trailer which was stolen with my sled. Found a 2003 Triton 10' clamshell trailer for 1250.00 which seems like a smoking deal on a clamshell 10' trailer, will the 136 fit in there with out a problem? Anyone?

My son has an 07 Apex GT stretched to 144" with a big beaver tail off the back, and it still fits in a Triton enclosed 10 footer fine. The ski tips can run up on top of the front shelf of the clam shell a bit and still open and close the just fine. If you are doing a pile of freeway speed driving I would recommend going to the 10" tires. Back in 2003 I believe they were 8" Fatboys.

Well just talked again to guy on LTX and not sure the right deal. Scratch on hood, cracked windshield, cigarette burn on seat, salt corrosion on motor and suspension bolts, broken high beam switch. Hmmmm

Any info you guys know on this 40th model? or go with the 2009?

Yes it will fit in 10' trailer. I'd say if your uncomfortable with the sled wait for something else. That anniversary edition is a great sled. Best onlins suspension you can get. Don't pull the trigger on something you don't feel right about.

He didn't disclose all of that to me! That's what changed my mine with him, he just kept talking. Glad I didn't go thru with it.
The 2008 Anniversery has a nice shock package on them.

Yea, I have 2 RX1s in garage to use and really want a end of season deal so no hurry, and want to spend 5k max and lower miles the better. I am in the best position, have stuff to ride and have cash for someone with the right end of season deal. The LTX is off the plate, at least since he was sober he was more up front about condition. I do like the 2009 with 2200 miles and would take 5k but it is red........really wanted blue or black. My sled that was stolen started out as the silver and I bought all the blue stuff and changed it over with some good deals off of ebay. Just may do that again. I really do miss my paid for well maintained RX but that's the brakes. RIP RX

Don't overlook slightly higher miles where a lot of the wear and tear items have been recently replaced. The motor isn't going to be greatly affected by mileage (unless you are talking crazy numbers), but a 6-10 year old well-maintained sled where the bearings, bushings, suspension arms, wheels, exhaust donuts, etc. have been replaced and/or upgraded may be a better long term investment than a low mileage sled where you may have to dump a lot of money into it...

I just talked to a guy with a 2007 Apex GT with 14k miles and with lots of parts replaced under YES warranty up to 10k miles. Has all the bills from Yamaha and a 2 place enclosed trailer for 5600 Says it does use a little oil which I knew 2003 and 04 does, my sons uses 1 pint every few hundred miles. He said he would do a deal for 5k hmmmmm

Here is a list:

All 5 drive bearings
Drive axle and cog wheels
Exhaust headers, gaskets (copper), clamps, y-pipes
Chain and drive sprockets
Both clutches
Battery
Starter
Chaincase seals
Both skid suspension support assemblies and bushings
Front suspension bushings
All idler and bogie wheels
Steering column bushings
Fuel level sending unit

I also had them put on a new track while the axle was removed.

I changed the oil and filter each year along with the chaincase oil. I also had the exhaust pipe reinforced. The rear shock was just serviced as well. It is all stock besides the Yamaheaters.

I will say I am a ASE master tech of 40 years and have done all my own work and replaced lots of parts on all three of my sleds. Miles don't worry me since we know what Nick Kellar did, however it cost him lots of parts to get there.....I am shocked uses oil on a 2007 motor. There has been lots of known weakness repaired already as you can see. Hmmm
