The Schmidt Brothers plate is a waste of money. It is just a square piece of aluminum I'm sure you can pick up locally for less $$$.
Thats it? What are the dimensions?

I just put one on my FX. There are a few cuts but you would probably save $50.00 if you did it yourself.

Did the tunnel protecters come off then sandwich the plate on? I guess do you have any pics of the finished product. Thanks

How firm is the Skinz seat compared to a stock seat and how much higher than stock? Is anybody selling an undertunnel muffler kit that uses the stock header? Sled looks awesome! :-o

the band clamp and rubber hooped pieces I see are no problem...the aluminum blocks is what Id need...
also...the skinz plate is what I see at the rear...whats the plate(s) at the front???

The band clamp that sits around the silencer is the band clamp that is delivered with the Excell full exhaust.
The small aluminium bracket that sits "in between" the band clamp is also delivered with the Excell full exhaust (this one bolts to the underside of the top of the heat shield when using the standard seat).
The angled aluminium bracket that is attaching the Excell aluminium bracket to the rubber hooped clamps is home made.
The rubber hooped clamps are just standard parts that can be found in most auto parts stores (these are inside diameter 25 mm to clamp around the tubes of the Skinz seat frame).
The block-off plate is not the Skinz plate, as this one is made for the standard header pipe and their shorty silencer. My block-off plate is home made to fit the Excell full exhaust. The piece just in front of the silencer is a "deflector plate" that will stop snow and water to spray up in front of the silencer. The reason this one is needed is because the hole in the block-off plate has to be made quite big just in front of the silencer, in order to not interfere with the silencer springs.

I would say quite a lot firmer (even though I never sit down...), quite a lot grippier (due to the grip top seat wrap), approximately two inches higher than stock and in my case three kilograms lighter than stock.

Quality of seat and block off look great. Is this want you have found also?If not running studs would you still advise removal of protectors? I just got off Skinz website. I was thinking about just seat cover kit but doesn't compare to complete kit. Once i saw your pics, just have to get one! One question is how easy to remove and put on another Nytro. ;)!

It mounts to the 8 studs that hold the stock aluminum muffler cover on, so its as easy as pulling off 8 nuts. Not as easy as a stock seat but not bad. Mine has taken a lot of good impacts and its holding up good expensive but I do like it as long as it holds up.

I have a skinz seat might sell....Ive never ridden on it but it seems real hard for sitting extended time in trail riding

Yes, the build quality of the seat is very good.

If you are not running studs I see no reason to use the stud protectors.

Eight acorn nuts and two rivets for the seat. The block-off plate is slightly more work with twenty something rivets in total.

Thanks, just thinking about putting it on my next Nytro. Will be an easier sell to the wife if I told her it is transferable to my new sled in two years.LOL. Yes I have tried the ask for forgiveness instead of permission route but that only works for so long. After 20+ years of marriage they have ways of getting even! :o|

I just picked up an 09 rtx se which has the full excell exhaust an am thinking of making my own block off plate. Where do I click to see the pictures of that homemade block off plate? I don't see any link to click on.
