hey guys i know this doesnt belong here but ill try it any way i used to have an rx1 turbo and got alot of help from ty forums so ill try this....i have an 93 xlt 580 and i just got a hymark turbo kit for it and the kit comes with a mechanical oil pump that bolts up to the motor replacing the oil injection pump and requires you to mix your oil and gas there after......the mechanical pump pumps oil from a resivore to the turbo and then returns to the resivore.....my question is can i get a small 12v pump to pump the oil instead of using the one o come with the kit so i can keep my oil injection.....if so what oil pressure do i need....i do not know if this is a ball bering or a bushing turbo....but it is a garrett...does the turbo need different amounts of oil depending on how fast it is spinning? if any one has n e ideas that will allow me to keep my oil injection im open for ideas thanks

from my experiences seeing turbo 2 strokes they've always been fuel injected and the oil pump for the turbo was electric and was ran off relayed power from the sleds fuel pump...

why would you want to keep the factory oil injection? The way they run on the XLT's is horrible and prone to premature failure due to dried out/rotten lines, chaffing, etc... Especially that you are planning on turbo'n it i would highly recommend going with the premix set up as you are guaranteed to always be properly lubed (as long as you can run mix formula's) and never have to worry about a melt down due to oil issues!

Just my 2 cents
