15 Viper
Hi guys, first time posting on here. Love this site, it’s helped me solve lots of problems! I’m new to the turbo world, it’s a big learning curve.
i have 15 viper with the mpi trail kit I was trying to plumb in a boost gauge this weekend when I came across a series of problems
1. My bov was never hooked up when the kit was installed, the 3 ports on the throttle bodies are still capped and I don’t have the 5 port block.... any ideas why they wouldn’t have plumbed it in? Could this have harmed the motor(12000k on it now). The sled rips, should I leave it disconnected or plumb it in?

2 all Aluminum brackets that brace the turbo are broken including wastegate. Tried contacting mpi phone and email, haven’t heard anything. Anyone else make the brackets for the mpi kits, or should I just get em welded?

3 there’s oil in my intake ( sleds been on its side twice this year) I’m assuming it came through the air/oil separater box but unsure.(I don’t have the return to mag retro kit). I hope it’s not the turbo blowing oil. How can I check this?
Also oil has made it through air box through boost controller and into the wastegate. Will I damage wastegate if I spray it out with brake cleaner?

Thanks the help fellas

Hook the BOV up yes. Years ago MPI said you didn't need a BOV but it made the blower run cooler and more efficient.

Strange on brackets. MPI is all but gone so I would get them welded and reinforced locally.

Don't spray wastegate with brake cleaner. I would try to clean everything and then ride the sled upright and normal and see if it fills back up. Mine was doing something similar and I found out my BOV was not venting with good vacuum and had to adjust it to let it open up under vacuum more. Worked great and stopped the oily intake. Others have found their return oil drain/pump what ever you have was to small or not working properly. The turbo seals being the problem is usually the last resort.
