SC versus Turbo
I would only have the supercharger for many reasons:
(1.) A supercharger uses the stock exhaust which won't close trails
(2.) Rear Turbos are too loud because their mufflers are a joke
(3.) Front mount turbos melt plastic or require a smaller fuel tank
(4.) All turbos seem to have a header problem
(5.) You don't need to pull the motor to install header like a turbo
(6.) Most turbos require a separate oiling system
(7.) Superchargers are more steath looking
(8.) I believe SC's are easier to tune
But I do like the way you can easily adjust a turbo's boost level but that actually would get me in trouble if I did not have the correct fuel. Especially when I wanted to race or show off by turning up the boost just this once thinking all will be OK, then boom!
I know I will get some flack from what i said but I like to ride my sled not wrench on it.
Just my 2 cents

My vote, for what it's worth, is : PURPOSE
What are you doing racing or fast trail riding. I agree with Ted, at 10 lbs of boost for both you have more power with the turbo backpressure or not. I've had both the Supercharger is more throttle responsive but uses some of the power to turn the blower. Thus 10 lbs with a turbo would require maybe 13 lbs with a supercharger and the higher you go in boost the more loss you will get as it's increasingly harder to spin the supercharger.
Bottom line I recomend to my customers if you are trail riding and want throttle responce, not looking for all out power go Supercharger, but if your lake racing or drag racing the turbo wins hands down.

I may be wrong.... but it seems like the price is better on the sc... you can run 20+psi on a sc much cheaper than on a turbo especially if you are not doing the install yourself. I can only imagine running a sc with 20+psi that would be the one to take to marble on the 24th. Blue shadow be sure to let us know how the races go if your there i wish i could go even to watch would be nice, damn ferry. Some day when i get enough boost to compete i will be in a guy from here won king of the hill a few years ago. Anyone else from this site going to race?

I just did a few quick 20# runs yesternight (in a big snow storm here) on my 136" mpi stg3 rx1 efi and ... track speed got to a new level aaaaaaaaaa!!
From a start... I immediately see 100mph and climb quickly to 110mph.... while I am still going about 30-40 mph... talk about crazy!

Mulot how do you think a stage 3 apex sc would hold up with the turbos in a drag? On snow with the right track should be good i would think... The attak might have to get a upgrade... although i would like to boost the nytro can't afford to do both...

We previously built turbo's for sleds we now build superchargers. We have had great luck with the superchargers. We are building a turbo& superchargers for the new ski doo as well. If you have any questions please call me here at MPI 888-649-4609, Thanks Skyler
