I've pulled with two different V6's and three different V8's.

Newest is a '16 chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0 6sp. Ya know.....all of them have gotten real close to 10mpg. I generally pull at 70mph.

What do you use to pull and what's your avg mpg?

I have a 1500 Silverado with the 4.8 v-8. When I tow at 70 I get terrible mileage between 8-9 mpg.

Gotta pay to play!!!!

well my trailer has been pulled by 3 different trucks in the last season so i really know how bad mine is by comparison. trailer is a united 25' v nose steel frame 8' wide enclosed. 4 4stroke sleds in trailer with parts and tools. average towing speed was around 65 mph and all trucks had 6 speed tranny in tow haul mode.

my truck: 2010 silverado 1500 5.3 with 3.08 gears. gets 6 mpg in a good stretch, worse in the hills.
kirkswim truck: 2015 silverado 2500hd 6.0l gasser with 4.11 gears. got 8.5 mpg on average.
couchrider truck: 2015 ram 2500hd cummins disel ,don't know gears. 11 mpg with plugged cats. parts where back ordered so got thrown together to make trip.

the 2 2500 was same trip to cocrane from sudbury along same route. the 1500 was from sudbury ON to munising MI.

2015 Silverado v8 6.0l 2500 pulling a steel frame 24/7 with 2 4strokes and one 2stroke sled at 70 I get 9mpg

2009 Mercedes ML 550 V8 Gas. 18' Aluminum Predator. 3 four Strokes. 65 mph.
19 litres per 100 km/ 15 miles/Cdn Gallon/ 12 miles per US Gallon.

Just replaced it with a new GC Trailhawk Hemi. Guessing it will be worse.
My last Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 V8 got 9 miles per US gallon.

‘12 Mercedes GL350 Bluetec towing 22’ Floe with a Snocap have seen 14-17 mpg. It is a new vehicle to me so I do not have a lot of towing miles on her. Former tow vehicle was an ‘06 GMC Yukon Denali 6.0 and usually got around 9 mpg.

12' F150 5.0L, don't pull enclosed trailer much but averaged 11mpg @ 70mph pulling a 7x20 HD contractor style flat front enclosed helping a family move from Colorado to Minnesota. I get ~15 pulling a loaded 4 place open deck with a big spray shield back and forth to the UP @ 60mph. My Wifes old 4.6L Mountaineer got 13 doing the same trip. Pulls better than my old 7.3L power stroke and gets almost identical MPG. This 5.0L is best gasser I've owned, by far, for fuel economy.

I have a 2009 mega cab 6.7 diesel all emissions turned off no tune get between 14to 15.5 speed and weather affect it That is pulling my 4 place enclosed

I just loaded up with flex fuel (appx 51% ethanol) and made a run to Keweenaw. And got a very depressing 6mpg. Couldn't even make 200miles and needed fuel. Yuck!
Wonder how that Ford Ecoboost does when pulling?

My good buddy tows my trailer with 2-3 sleds with the ecoboost. It gets much better mileage then my Silverado. It doesn't work real hard either. Nice tow truck.

'08 Dodge 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins that is fully deleted and mild tune pulling a 24'x8.5' v-nose full of 4 strokes, I get about 13mpg on a 50/50 blend diesel. Probably get better if blend wasn't as strong, but I'm a fuel truck driver and believe there is no additive that works as well as a good blend.

1998 GMC K1500 4.3L . 2 bed enclosed inline. 15 renegade, 08 nytro. 9 mpg

You will never get mileage out of that crap on any truck... Non Ethanol high octane is the best for pulling.
