ulmer stage 2

i think i have checked evrything ive tried 9 maps and 2 different hub configs checked throttle position ,t.o.r.s ,pinched lines ,fuel pressure, air leaks ,changed fuel i am at a loss here fuel pressure with my guage was 55psi at idle and 62 psi at 8lbs boost that is coming right off the regulator
i also cked all connections including ground i just dont know but its as if you hit the throttle then let off and hit it again the miss is quite bad but i have had instinces where i have hit the throttle a few times and it was good so i duuuuunooo

I would try setting the pressure at 60psi idle like Allen was saying, could be losing just enough fuel to make it act up. Also make sure the TORS is properly adjusted, it's a tight fit with the trail tank and throttle cable. The TORS has given a few people fits before.

Well it's a month later and still same problem not to mention it boils the antifreeze I guess I need rear heat exchanger I've checked everthing and this kit is not working well at all at 10 lbs stock 800r kills me wow that ain't right ?? I applied pressure through intake and the only leaks are from down pipe to exhaust pipe and alittle through the wastegate actuator don't know what the problem is this things had more maps than google
Earth fed up kits gotta go I guess mabey alpines the answer ??

Wondering what the plugs are looking like, and the cr10ek's are working well in my 180 kit. Which plugs are you running and gap? Also check the throttle cable adjustment, sometimes the TORS will activate when it should not. TORS has caused weird problems before to other guys on here.

plugs look good i swithed from the 10's back to 9's gapped to 20 as allen suggestedi disabled t.o.r.s and also ckecked throttle free play i by passed the ignition module to check that too ive ran two extra grounds rechecked all connections and rechecked them again are you guys with these kits running extra heat exchangers ?? cause at first i thought i had an antifreeze leak but i didnt then i thought i had an air lock but nope then i checked to see if the head gasket was leaking nope not that either turns out the antifreese is simply boiling out my res tank but the light wasnt coming on and ive tested the thermostat as well opens fine i think i will try to pull it out and run it like that this kit has turned a machine i loved into an extremly hanis contraption

Currently have no extra exchanger, but I think it runs a tad warmer. I have a temp gauge on order. I don't know what to think on your sled? I assume it ran perfect before the kit? Maybe an injector don't like the extra PSI for some reason?

I have the MPI tunnel cooler on mine with the rad delete on it. Mine runs cool. How are your heat blankets holding up??

yes the macine ran perfect before the turbo install i will see what the heat blankets look like tonight im doing a leak down test

well, had the heat issue on mine, but was caused initially by me not bleeding coolant...I have not read all the thread...but will start with what I did, and mine is running perfectly (just sold it though)

I have used Header wrap on mine, then I put a Turbo Blanket on mine...

which contains the heat in the turbo...

I also went to stainless braided Coolant lines (that have teflon sleeves inside them)...then on top of those, I went with Thermo-tec Heat sleeve stuff over the Coolant lines...

So, to do the Stainless braided lines I converted the Banjo fitting to the an connection, and on the actual threading I used extreme duty Hydraulic (I think 545 is the number) high temp thread locker to ensure they dont wiggle loose...

These are turbos that have lots of vibration and different flex with engine and are off road machines that are subject to LOTS more extremes than most give credit for..

So, having read the whoel thread now...

I actually think you have three possible things to look at...

first one you mention is throttle cable, but I would highly suggest adjusting your gap on your throttle to nearly nothing...as in touching the throttle flipper with slight pressure will make it rev higher...this is the first think to ensure...It is happening to LOTS of sleds...whole topic on it in the Mountain section...

Second, it almost sounds like a leak either in vacuum or in sealing...I would check to make sure both your gaskets/seals on the gas tank are doing what they need to...when re-installing them, make sure you are doing the star pattern to tighten...otherwise you will get un-even pressure on teh gasket...

Third, I would take off all hoses to and from the turbo and pressure test them to ensure there is not a leak...if you cant pressure test them...I would just replace them...

Fourth, I would check your coolant lines to the turbo to ensure they are tight, and not leaking/letting air into the system...You should not be boiling, that is just an indication of another issue (probably separate issue) My guess is your banjo bolt or your hose is letting some air in, and causing a lock...After checking those, I would bleed the coolant a couple times, just to make triple sure all is good there...

Personally, I went above and beyond to ensure I never had a coolant issue again, by doing what I did in the above post...

I can tell you definitively, with my first generation Stage II kit, there is not a 800 made that can hang with me...Half throttle I can pull away from all of them...Not bragging just fact...

Well I've just finished a leak down n this motor 11% leakage on all three cylinders at tdc leaking out exhaust and out throttle bodies when I first received kit the map sensor was not working properly I went out my lane and back bout a mile contacted Allen he pointed me in the right direction I fixed the wire the was off in the sensor but didn't think it did any damage looks like it did ?????

well, a leak it is, and not a good one huh!!!

no idea, could be gasket...are you leaking coolant? Leaking oil?
