Under tunnel exhaust

At face value the first thing I'd redesign on a Nytro is the silly exhaust routing. The attributes of the stock system are no storage space and excessive icing below and above the tunnel.

Does anyone have actual experience with an under-tunnel exhaust system? I'd like to hear the pros and cons.

It would be an improvement if the exhaust was fully above the tunnel. The steam and vapor generated when snow hits the exhaust is always going to freeze on the nice cold aluminum.

One positive of the stock exhaust is that it serves as a nice hand warmer!

I too have been considering a under tunnel exhaust. It would free up space for storage. The down side would be the ice build up. It would probably be worse than what it is now. I'd like to know how the mountain guys are making out with there under tunnel exhausts. They must have a ton of ice build up?

From what I hear Excelle is working on a under tunnel system! I am going that route whether I turbo next year or not, got to have more storage space!!

Does anyone know if the performance gains are similer to their current system? How about the sound? I would think that it may be muffled a bit being under the tunnel. Defenatly Cool though! Time will tell.

I too am very interested in the under tunnel excel system. I don't know if I will be able to afford it, but it is something that would be very good.

It would look awesome if you combined an under tunnel system with a mountain mod seat.

My under tunnel exhaust has has created a lot more ice build up in the tunnel, but now I have some storage space. A Dynajet or RB3 are critical if you are going to change the exhaust. Sled ran like #%&^ untill I put the Power Commander on, now it is like a whole new sled. Basically if you are going to change the intake or exhaust on these things, you are going to need a fuel control or the changes are a huge waste.

I am using a Karcher that a buddy had on his Ninja. I don't think it was much of a weight savings as the exhaust is heavey, but it allowed me to have alot more storage space. It sounds alot better now too.

Next step is to built something to cover the hole in the tunnel and build some sort of storage compartment under the seat. Saw a thread on here somewhere where someone built a nice system
