Who is responsible to let the owner know of any updates for their sled?

Is it the dealer, Yamaha Motor Corp, or does the owner have to find out about the updates from a site such as this?

I have gotten recall notices in the mail, however I have never been informed of any updates other than reading about them on this site.

Is there somewhere within this site where the owner can read of all the updates and recalls that have been issued for their sled?

Most updates are on a as needed basis so unless you let the dealer know you have a issue it wont get fixed. Some of the things that happen to some of us might not happen to yours ever even though its posted on here.Personally I have had most issues posted by others here eventually so it is a accurate representation but not everything.Just need to keep that in mind.It kind of stinks but most things arent going to get replaced till they are broken so all you can do is ask your dealer for the update and hope he can get it for you.More than likely he wont be able too unless he can show Yamaha a broken part or a problem.

Only recalls and updates that are mandatory and you should have had a call or notice for I believe are:

Last year Safety Recall for spindle bolts(also tightened one motor mount bolt)
This year Safety Recall for steering nuts(Also Other motor mount bolt and shields and bracing for icing around steering)

So do you just call your dealer and say to put a fan kit in or at least give me one for free and i will install...my 07 has overheated a few times and i dont want it to keep doing that...they only gave me a 90 day warrentee or something because its an 07..but i still have a few months yet...so can I get things fixed free?

Are you saying because you bought a 07 you only have a 90 day warranty.

Did you buy it new, or slightly used?

Sounds like a load of crap to me if it's a new sled!

As long as it's new, you should have gotten a full year warranty.

Yes exactly, If you bought it new you should of got a full year warranty even if it is an 07. About the over heating I would just call your dealer and tell them that your sled overheats and that you know the 08's have the fan installed from the factory, and also tell them you know people with 07 phazers that have got the fan put on there sleds and Yamaha has paid for it.
