Thinking? If I run meth/water what is the most boost i can run on a stock motor(without headshim) on 91 octane? Been doing some reading and am worried about losing to much throttle response at high elevation.
Is cam timing still someting that can be done to make a turbo sled perform better even if the head shim is not installed.
Hopefully I can get some good answers. I have this meth/water injection kit sitting here. And My motor guy is slow to get the shim installed(hasn't started it yet and I am just thinking about not doing it.
Thanks

Hard to tell, but a lot more that with the shim and premium fuel(no meth).
Yes, cam timing does help.
Install the meth. The cam timing can be done with the engine in the sled.

BPE tested my 03 rx-1 with stock compression at 16 pounds boost on 91. It could have handled more but I got nervous!

We made 321hp at 16lbs boost using pump gas and meth on a Nytro with 9.5to1 compression.I recommend the meth to control detonation and the shim to control the cylinder pressure to save the rods on the Vector
