Hello,

Did some trading around and got a hold of a Viper. Finally got my Nytro back on the road. Been driving the viper for the last few weeks and this is what I've found:

-Nytro engine seems way smoother(low and high RPM)
-Viper is a lot more noisy(exhaust in the front)
-Viper clutch seems a lot more noisy(getting a crazy noise, not a knocking noise, but like a bad whining noise from the viper clutch)
-Nytro seems to have more power(the "pull" on the viper doesn't seem as strong)
-Viper seems to have a anti engine-braking system(when you're slowing down, the rpm's stay a little high even though you let off the throttle).
-Viper feels lighter
-Almost like the stand up riding of the Nytro better(might just be the angle of the Viper handlebars)
-Nytro hugs my knees better when sitting down
-Viper suspension seems to be a little better dialed-in than Nytro

Love both machines, just seems like Viper has a rougher engine, and less "pull". Don't mind the exhaust loudness of the Viper, but the noisy clutch is a concern.

I might need to change my belt or set the deflection on the Viper, and that might help with some of my concerns.

Its the clutching on the Viper, not as good as the Nytro out of the box. Fix clutching and I doubt you will prefer the Nytro anymore

I've never been able to get my Viper to pull as hard as my Nytro. In spite of a lot of re-clutching. And the Viper uses more gas! That being said the Viper handling is superior to the Nytro. I believe the Viper is much better suited to stand up riding.

That is how our first Viper started out. So I started experimenting with clutching and used a Nytro with a can my brother borrowed to test against. That was the birth of the COTC (clutching on the cheap). SAme day testing the Viper went from slower than that Nytro to beating it by two full lengths from 0 to 50.

Short version is if you have a Viper that is running correctly and over 300 miles on it and stock Nytro's beat you clutching is needed.

That whining noise you are hearing could be caused by too tight Chain in chaincase. Finger tight then back out 1.5 turn. It's different spec than Nytro and will whine if at Nytro spec.

I always thought the clutch on my nytro was waaay noisy.. not much seat time on the viper though. My nytro did feel more powerful. Either way they are both great sleds IMO. However I would still choose my viper.
