I think it was better seen at 4:13....LOL ;)!

Rock On bud! Cant wait to ride with you again this year :)

After I realized my sport grab bar did not have access holes for the hood screws, I decided that I would get the Evolution Power Sports quick access kit for the hood, and then drill holes big enough to access the thumb screws once they were installed. Last night, the kit was in the mail, and I read the instructions. The instructions describe how to replace the torx screws with the thumb screws, etc., and then they said that the two fasteners at the front of the hood were not necessary, and not to bother with them! :o|

Please post pics once you have kit installed :)

View attachment 111006 This is what the bottom of our sport bumpers look like.
It looks like you were able to leave the plate underneath your sport grab bar, my dealer said it had to be removed to install it. The issue I have is the rubber boots aren't protected as much without it, and they can pop out. They said I'd have to bend grab bar for it to work, is this what you did?

Thats not true. We have 2 sleds with that plastic plate on and another one of my buddies has his the same. Your don't have to bend or modify nothing the bumper bolts right up. And I agree you need that plastic piece to keep your rubber steering boots in place. I think your dealer needs to join TY. Try to get the parts back from your dealer I'll do what I can to help you get it installed correctly

I have the plastic plate here, I told them it looks like it should fit, they said it wouldn't work with it. I guess maybe I'll try it myself, it just looks like one of the screws is almost stripped from when they installed the bumper. So it shouldn't be too hard to do you don't think?

Yehaf,

It's pretty easy.. The bolt on the bottom of the bumper might require an extra set of hands(small hands) to install the speed nut in the belly of the sled. Its a nut that's built on a clip so the nut always stays in place for when you remove the bolt, hopefully the dealer already installed that? If I remember right we needed to drill a hole in the plastic piece that your dealer removed to allow for the bolt diameter. I think the directions tell you that you need to drill a hole in it, so again not sure why your dealer though it didn't belong there? I would have the 6 bolts on the sides very loose while you get the bottom bolt started that's the hard one. Once you got them all started snug them down and a few drops of blue lock tight on the threads is always a good idea. As far as the one the dealer striped your going to need to replace it, a nut/bolt supplier like Fastenal or at least a hardware store that should be able to match it up with something that would work.

Thanks for the info yamahaguys, I'll try to fix it tomorrow if I have the time. Kind of frustrating my dealer didn't do it for me when I sent sled back to him and told him it didn't look right.

Sorry about your dealer! I can tell you that your in the right place now. If I cant help you there are 100's here that can.

I went w the cat bumper on my 14 and got same one for my 15. I liked the protection it offered more than the yami and skins options. image.jpegimage.jpeg

Is there any easy way to get to that speed nut in the belly, the bolt isn't hitting anything, so I have to get in there somehow, didn't have a whole lot of time to work at it this afternoon. Looks like it should work with the plate though. Thanks.

No. The easiest way is to pull the hood off and then pull the air box off then you'll have very easy access to that nut. It can be done by pulling the steering boot off if you have a very small hand and know exactly where that speed has to go but you're doing it all by feel you can't really see in there. I would recommend pulling The air box off so you can see what you got and then you clearly see where that speed nut goes.
