Viper vs. skidoos

Tom i love your idea and if it happens i will be there for sure :) oh can we have it set up with jumps to make it more exciting lol :jump: :sled1: ;)!

Sure.. I am serious... I will even bring my radar gun to keep them honest.

Racing is all about conditions and setup. Some conditions will favor one or the other. A lot of variables. I have seen sleds beat sleds they shouldn't on one day and get their butt handed to them by the same sled on a different day. It all depends.

Happy Racing fellas and may the conditions favor us.

I'll be there, I have nothing to hide and the only thing not stock on my Viper is the helix

I liked going to rib lake every year.....no bs and the radar didn't lie

I've been beat by several different sleds since I've owned the viper, first one here to admit that. Just so happens I was able to beat 2 skidoo 800s in one night. Going riding again tomorrow with my switchback 800 and xrs 800 buddies..if it works out I'll try to get some videos of the results on that. I'm sure we will be lining them up again as the guy with the xrs just went out today and spent some more $ to try and gain some speed.

Just curious if an xrs is geared different then the rest of the doos, reason im asking is because I've beat an xrs with my xtx, and I always keep hearing how the doos have the long legs?

That is possible..a buddy of mine has a 14' renegade 800 that I believe has a clutch kit. It's never been said for sure but it is an awesome running "stock" sled. Once we get out to about 60-70 mph is when you can see the more hp of that sled kicks in. The xrs I raced is one of those sleds that the owner has a little more money than brains..spent a lot of money to make it look awesome on a dyno sheet but never figured out how to get the power to the ground. Haven't had a chance to line up with a second generation apex yet. An uncle of mine owns the D&D dealer demo apex from a couple years back. It's an xtx, lot of bolt on work done to that sled, raced that one last year when I was on my old mans 09 apex. Rolling at 60 mph down a hard packed road and the xtx apex pulled up next to me and we took off. There was a small knoll in the road that I seen but my uncle on the other sled never did and he hit it doing 90+mph and came off the sled, slid around 100 feet down the trail and was knocked out and ended up having to get airlifted. Other than a cut on the forehead he had no other injuries at all thank god! Since that he hasn't had any interest whatsoever in racing no matter what the condition. Can't blame him as he is 62 yrs old. Have yet to race the 09 apex but looking forward to seeing the outcome of that

Thought they changed hearing on them over the years with not as tall of gears?
